Yes I purchased the Shark Steam Pocket mop – I ordered it over the phone, bought the extra pads (for an additional $40 plus s/H), paid a total of $168.75 for all of it, had to call the home office (in Canada) SEVERAL times to even get a tracking number even though the person on the phone asked me my email address when I ordered it so she could send me the tracking info. I never did get anything in my email regarding my order.
I originally called the phone number back that I ordered the mop from and she gave me their customer service number. I called there and was put on hold for 30 minutes. They have a canned response for all phone calls that says something to the effect that they are receiving a high volume of calls and the wait time for a representative is over 8 minutes. It doesn’t matter what time of day or night you call, you get the same message. Anyway, after finally getting a service representative and asking them about getting an email confirmation of my order (I was told when ordering it over the phone that it would take anywhere from 2 to 6 WEEKS for it to be delivered)that even though they ask you for your email address they do NOT send out order confirmations and if you want tracking information you have to call the main office in Canada. Which I did. Another 15 minute wait for someone to answer the phone – and I got the same run around about getting a confirmation sent to me of my order. No, we don’t do that. Then, I asked, WHY do the phone operators ask for an email address. I don’t know but we do not send out order confirmations – was the reply. I finally, after insisting numerous times, DID receive a UPS tracking number and was able to get an idea of when my order would arrive. After receiving my order, I opened the box, and lo and behold – no additional mop heads which I had ordered. I called customer service back. Oh, those are sent out separately and through USPS not UPS. You should be getting them within 2 to 6 weeks…
I did finally get a tracking number for the additional mop heads and found out that they were sent 2 weeks AFTER they had been ordered originally and are still floating around somewhere within the USPS system. I was hoping to receive them today since it has now been 3 weeks since they were “shipped”, but they did not come in the mail. Maybe I’ll get them before Christmas. I hope that any of you that ordered this thing over the phone did not have to go through all this mess just to find out mailing information about your steam mop. As for the effectiveness of the cleaning – I have to use my Rug Doctor floor cleaner (not the carpet cleaner)first on my floor THEN if I use the Steam Pocket Mop it MIGHT get some of the dirt up but it basically is just a glorified, expensive dust mop as far as I am concerned. It does not clean my floors but it does put out a lot of steam and sure raises the humidity level in my home. Also, after using it my house always smells like a wet dog – I don’t have a dog. So, I’ll be using it as a dust mop I guess (what a waste of money!!!) but I will also be checking into that Bissell Steam Mop Eucalyptus Scented cleaning fluid that was mentioned above. I’ve got to do something to get rid of the horrible wet dog smell it leaves everytime I’ve used it. I guess I just got a lemon, but I sure hope nobody else gets one. And NO I won’t be ordering anything else from that company EVER again!
The first Shark Steam Mop took the world by storm a few years ago. Euro-pro is back with an update to their very popular As Seen On TV mop. They have made a number of improvements of their first steam mop including a longer cord, bigger water tank, and doubled the size of the cleaning surface. The Shark Steam Pocket mop(pocket because the cleaning head is reversible) has had great success so far with many people writing positive reviews for it. However, others have not been so lucky…
Welcome to SharkSteamPocketMops.COM where we discuss and review everything that has to do with these steam mops. As always, we encourage people to leave comments about their experiences!

I have purchased the Shark Steamer and have to say that it is the best thing I have purchased. I cleans my floors so well that I enjoy walking on them barefoot. I most love the fact that I am saving money on NOT purchasing all the chemicals I used to when cleaning my floors. I am a clean freak and this product allows me to clean my floors any time with out the hassle of lugging a mop and bucket around and then waiting for the floors to dry. I entertain a lot and after the friends and family have left I give my floors a quick vaccum and then hit it with the Shark and walk on it immediately. It really does clean and disinfect wonderfully. I am now looking into buying a vaccum from Shark.

I just got the Shark Pocket Mop at Kohl’s.
I’m really just buying my wife’s happiness…but nowhere does it say how hot this thing should blow. Is it steam or just warm aerosolized spray? If I point it to a surface, the surface only gets warm. Is this warm enough to kill a germ or just to make it feel good? Is this a serious cleaning product or engineering meant to scam?

I have purchased several of the original steam mops for myself and for gifts. I don’t mind the shorter cord length; there is less to get in the way. However, the velcro on the pad is a little weak. and the mop becomes harder to maneuver as it gets wetter. My floors are large, so I really need to use 2 pads to do a good job. Also, I don’t wash them in my washer, but use the laundry sink–uses less water and energy. The mop I purchased my daughter has stopped working after 10 months. Was told to ship it back and they will fix or replace. A little disappointed about the longevity of that one. Otherwise it has been effective.

My Shark mop is less than a year old and has only been used, maybe, six times. It no longer works and I am very disappointed in it. Would not recoomend it to anyone.

I purchased a steam pocket and used it once, it worked great.. The next time I tried to use it it would not make steam. It seems to get hot but ho steam comes out. After reading some of the negative comments, I wonder if there is a problem with your product and should be addressed to the U.S. Atty. General and have this product banned in the U.S. or can you help?
Just a little upset….

I purchased the steam mop (original) about 10 months ago, and felt it was pretty good at cleaning my floors, but did not get into the corners or edges as I wanted.
Today when I was using it, it just quit making steam – I see that the problem is one that many have had. I am wondering what the problem is and what is the solution?

yup … our Shark Steam mop used to work very well … USED TO !!! just stopped working – no heated water – no steam. I took it apart – there are no burnt wires or blown fuses. I tried hot water and vinegar – water pumps thru, but the heating element is dead. not gonna buy another Shark … try to find a different brand

I purchased the Steam Pocket mop around 9 months ago.. It worked great for awhile – now I can not get it to steam. Not enough heat. Sounds like it is an issue for more than just me.;. I have only used it around 6 times.

Produces little steam! If you want more your have to pump the heck out of it! And it leaves streaks on all my floors! Handle is flimsy!!!
I’ve had this for 6-7 months used it maybe 10 times if that… Not it wont work, seems to heat up. But no steam… Called the company they said to try to clean it with viniger and water… That has not worked either! I paid around $150.00 for this at Canadian Tire thinking this would be more economical then a Swiffer wet jet long term! Boy was I wrong!!! Should have saved my money and went with a mop and bucket!!!!!!!! I do not recomend this to anyone!! Save your money ppl!

I purchased my Shark Steam Mop last year. I used it once a week to steam clean my floors. Now here it is not even a year has past and it no longer is steaming. Is there anyone who has this problem found a solution to this? It really irritated me because I brought the whole bundle ie. extra pads and all!!!!!!! Now I’m back to the “Stone Age”; mop and bucket!

i bought the shark steam mop and it worked good for about 2 months and then it quit steaming. why pay big money for these products and then it quit working and then you get a run around about them fixing it, i think everyone should be able to return this product with no charge and then get a full refund . save your money people and find another product.

I bought the Shark Steam Mop and used it 2X – now it won’t produce any steam – all it does is leak water from the bottom of the tank. What a waste of money!!! Brought it back to the store and they said to contact Shark and we all know that is a waste of time and more money!!! I think we should all get our money back – I would send it back as long as they paid for that too.

I bought the pocket steam mop, and after 1/2 dozen uses the handle broke off at the seam. The whole handle & 1/2 of the side where it says”gently pull & turn clip for cord release” It’s never been dropped or mis-used. I loved it until it broke. Now what???????

I bought the SHARK STEAM MOP after seeing some commercials which impressed me. It is only good as long as it works. IT seems like it will only last for a few months and then won’t work, I bought 2 more units thinking that the first one may be a lemon, but had the same problem, died in a few months. It is simply a nightmare to go thru customer service and the time it takes to send and get back the unit. I would NEVER buy this product again because it is a cheap product and the customer service is VERY POOR.
